About

Photo_edited.jpg

Paulette Hampton is a writer and poet from North Carolina who has always turned to words to navigate the parts of life that feel just out of reach. She holds a Master of Arts in reading education, and much of her writing is shaped by a love for fantasy and paranormal stories, as well as her lived experience with mental health. Her debut novel, Of the Lilin, a YA paranormal novel, explores inner darkness and the search for meaning.

She is also the author of When Life Was Yellow, a memoir about her experience with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and the unusual sci-fi novel Singing to the Fere Moon.

Paulette’s poetry often leans into emotional complexity, examining themes like identity, OCD, and resilience. Her poems have appeared in Wildsound, Prosetrics, Disturb the Universe Magazine, and Poetry for Mental Health.

Across all genres, Paulette writes with the hope that readers will find something familiar, something honest—and maybe even a sense of connection—in her work.
